Am I on the Right Path to become an Astronaut?

I will finish up my bcS in Biology Spring of 2020, and have been debating whether I should get a master's or phD in marine biology and try to get research work in Antarctica (I love biology and wouldn't mind doing research as a career as a plan B) first, and then go the Naval aviator-Test Pilot route (I also love flying) afterward. Would it make more sense to go NROTC first and work on a master's or phD while commissioned as an officer, or get the education first and then commission?

I am aware that most astronauts that go the pilot route majored in some form of engineering, so I guess it wouldn't be optimal for me to go the researcher-and-test pilot route, right? But these is me passions :)

Any input is appreciated!
