A few years ago my grandma told me about a time in the 1960s when she was positive she had some kind of alien encounter. Her and my grandpa were driving around rural Oregon heading home to Washington. They had an old Beetle and were puttering along in the middle of the night when the inside of the car lit up. I cannot quite remember, but the vehicle either didn't have inner lights, or they were burnt out. They promptly pulled over, completely baffled as there was no one else on the road and no street lights. While standing and staring at the car from a few feet away, a quick flash of light went off in the sky. My grandparents felt really strange, like they'd lost time. The inside of the car was now dark again, the mysterious source of light had left. Upon looking at the clock on the dash, they discovered they had lost about twenty minutes since pulling over, although it had maybe been three minutes in their own minds. Nothing like that ever happened to them again, and an explanation for the lights and time loss was never found.
