Scary mysteries Twisted Twos:
Polybius Video Game and Charlie No Face

Tales of hauntings, murder and scary mysteries. Every week Twisted Two's dives into a pair of uniquely terrifying true stories that are worthy of a more in depth look.

For this week, we focus on a creepy old school video game and the curious case of Charlie No Face. Get ready for Scary Mysteries, Twisted Two’s.

#1 Polybius Video Game

It’s a video game that kills. A tool used by the government for mind control - a mysterious game that doesn’t seem to exist.

For a short time in 1981, a mysterious cabinet game landed in Portland, Oregon. The seemingly ordinary arcade console was called Polybius. With its bright green and yellow retro ballon sign and ordinary black cabinet with red joystick, it looked like any other game in the arcade. But those who played it, swear there’s something seriously strange going on.

#2 Charlie No Face

During the 1950s and 60s in Western Pennsylvania, rumours of an unusual sighting on Route 351 lingered in the area - these rumours centered on a man with no face who was said to stalk the streets.

The man in question is Raymond Robinson. At 8 years old, he was reaching for a bird’s nest at the top of an electric pole. But instead of touching the bird’s nest, he accidentally hit a livewire and a surge of 11,000 volts of electricity sent him flying to the ground. Within seconds, the shock burned through his eyes and nose and cost him one of his arms.
