Hi all,
I’ll be a Senior in September working towards a BS in Civil Engineering. My main focus thus far has been in Structural engineering with a focus in Bridge Design. I’ve worked at a Major US design firm for over 3 years now as a bridge engineering intern. My GPA (if it matters) is about a 3.86 right now.
While looking at grad schools, the idea of aerospace structures ( Launchpad/Building/Moon or Mars structures) has peaked my interest. I LOVE space, and closely follow SpaceX and NASA very closely. The idea of working as a structural engineer in the space industry would literally be a dream come true to combine both my passions into a career.
My question is, how realistic is this dream? What masters (and possibly PhD) programs should I look into and what steps can I take to start connections in the industry?
If anyone works in Aerospace Structures and would be willing to connect and act as a mentor, that’s would be great!
Thanks!
