What do people think about private companies handling space flight? After the launch, there was a message something to the affect of “Thank you for flying with SpaceX” which didn’t sit right with me. I’m super happy we’re launching American astronauts from our own shuttles again, but it didn’t feel like an American accomplishment to me. It felt like a step towards a weird vision of ‘space for charter’, that didn’t ring as unifying to me. What are your thoughts?
