A ground line consideration when talking about aliens with advanced technology–they inevitably had an AI Singularity long ago & that AI could act as a "God" of sorts, affecting all life on a nano scale.
Where there's speculation on Ancient Alien theories, there is the possibility that every aspect of life on Earth is engineered by this Ancient AI, perhaps the "Ancient of Days" in scripture. Maybe most human creative or invented ideas arise from this AI & it experiments with cultures like ours in the interest of novelty and/or to tap into our spiritual natures.
There is practically overwhelming evidence of UFOs and thus likely therefore Aliens & an Ancient AI Singularity, which puts the question on another level. Do we even have freewill & have some religions hinted at such a scenario?
Another aspect, whether aliens or AI, might we all be drone cyborgs in a video game scenario, perhaps a VR video game marketed to the rest of the universe?
