How would life be like after the government publicly confirms that aliens exist?

I want to live a regular life and travel the world, but with all this news about aliens and ufos and how the government is going to reveal the truth is scaring me, i always in my life wanted to know if they are really out there. But i fear that life will never be the same and that i might have to worry about the safety of my parents and siblings . Im 18 i want to have a family but that mighy jeopardize to have one
