For me personally, I grew up with some irrational fears up into my early teens. First I was afraid of the dark in my bedroom at night. I don’t think that’s very uncommon. Then I started to fear that my stuffed animals were watching me at night. Maybe that’s not uncommon, I don’t know. One night when I was about 7 or 8, something lifted my bed frame up about 2 inches and dropped it. Only reinforcing my fears of the dark. Still unexplained.
Fast forward a year or so. My mother and I witness a UFO dancing about in the night sky, while waiting for my step-father to get off work. We didn’t think much of it, or at least I didn’t. Being that I was a clueless child and thought it was something that would someday be explained.
Fast forward a year or so and the movie Communion comes out. I see the cover of the VHS and it immediately freaks me out. I don’t even know what the movie is about, but I know I don’t like that thing on the cover. But yet, I’m intrigued enough to watch it eventually. Needless to say, the whole plot freaked me out even more. I even took the closet doors in my bedroom off. For fear that there would be a grey hiding in it, every time I turned the bedroom light off.
Even still, before I saw the movie, I feel like I had a fear of being abducted…
Anyone else?
