GURVINDER SINGH
International Humanitarian Aid Director, UNITED SIKHS
Gurvinder Singh is a Finance Director and International Humanitarian Director at UNITED SIKHS, a civil and human rights, non-profit disaster relief, non-governmental organization, which is also a member of the United Nations. The definition of United Sikhs was conceived by three Sikh Americans in 1999. In various movements aimed at social and human growth, the organisation has committed to help those in need, especially poor and minority communities around the world. Their goal is to improve, mitigate, educate and protect the lives of vulnerable individuals and minority communities affected by disasters. In his long association with UNITED SIKHS, Gurvinder Singh has responded to numerous disasters worldwide, including tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, typhoons and earthquakes. Apart from this, he has led many humanitarian aid projects, including the Guru Nanak food pantry in Kenya, food banks and drive-by food pantries in the United States, vocational training schools in South Asia and a charity shop in the UK. In addition to this, He is a board member of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Civil Rights Committee. He has done interfaith and cultural sensitivity training for federal, state and local law enforcement, Fortune 500 companies, the TSA, and educational facilities. He is a certified trainer with the Department of Justice Community Relations Service. He studied Telecommunications Engineering at UTD and currently owns and operates his own business specializing in construction, real estate and insurance.
