China has released two Canadians from prison after the return of one of its nationals who was under house arrest in Canada. China claims this wasn't a case of hostage diplomacy, but the timing of their release was suspicious, to say the least. Meng Wanzhou, the CFO of China telecom giant Huawei, was charged by the US for violating its trade sanctions against Iran and misleading US banks about it.
