Some have their eyes fixed on the world and the bread it offers them but others the Kingdom of God and the bread their Father provides His children. What do you seek first? How have you set your priorities?

The Greek word translated as "daily" is epiousios and is only found in the Lord's prayer and nowhere else in antiquity. It is no secret that it simply does not mean "daily." It refers to one's sustenance, substance, subsistence for their livelihood. The children of God have died to the world and the old man to live a new life, new creations. God is Spirit and His Spirit begets spirit. His children are spiritual ones who walk by His Spirit, and as such, they are partakers of the divine nature, their Father's Holy Spirit. Spiritual children require spiritual food, the Bread of God, the Bread of Life, that is, doing the will of God, obeying His word of truth, which word we receive in the Spirit of God just as the prophets of old received the word of God when the Spirit came upon them. To know the perfect will of God we must surrender up ourselves as living sacrifices to Him to do whatever He wants with us. He is a loving Father and knows how to raise children who will sit with His firstborn son on his throne just as Jesus sat down with Him on His throne.
