Am I the only one who thinks that human history may have been super similar to what happened in the Halo franchise?

Like in Halo lore, humanity is basically super advanced with space colonies and shit, and they get fucked over by an alien species who thought humans were inferior, so they were de-evolved them into prehistoric humans as we know them today?

Idk, I was just watching some Halo videos yesterday, and this idea just popped into my head. Thoughts?
