Hallucinations or more?

Hi all, So when I was young I used to have some crazy dreams or more like hallucinations I remember them extremely vividly and I would always see a black cat looking at me that no one else could see, I know I was awake because I remember numerous times I would get up and my parents would have people over and I would be saying can you see that black cat, but they couldn’t. Just curious if anyone knows what it could be just a kid hallucinating or more? I have read some things, it was just so vivid I would have been around 6 and I still remember times to this day.
