I've been binge watching a few episodes of ancient aliens recently, when a thought came into my head. My theory is that aliens are the gods that religions are worshipping. Me, being an atheist, I don't think that its possible for a lot of things in the bible to happen without technology. Also just something I wanted to point out was that Darwin's theory on evolution proved that we humans weren't created by a god. Everything can be explained by science.
So the aliens visited us in the past, since we humans didn't understand their technology, they thought of them as gods. The aliens went along with that, and pretended to be gods so they could study humans, animals, and our earth itself. I think that they could shapeshift into human lookalikes so we wouldn't be that alarmed, and took that on as their main form. But they could also turn into any animals that they saw (probably because they must've studied them), and many ancient gods had that ability. They could control weather and seasons (by tilting the planet), and when humans began getting corrupted they were going to eliminate everyone except for a few humans so that life could start anew. And how they eliminated everyone? The great flood.
In many ancient stories, they tell about the land getting severely flooded (one example is noah's ark) and they purged all humans except for a few. They still continued to watch over us in a council of nine, in most ancient religions there were 9 main gods. They taught us about the human body, about the stars, and made life better for us weak creatures. If humans didn't give a sacrifice to them then they would have gotten angry and punished them. They protected us from other aliens that wanted to use us as slaves, and everything was good. They then visited us less and less, until they complately vanished. Why?
I think that they thought that if they kept doing this, humans would never be an independant species, they would depend too much on aliens. They left, leading humanity to solve its own problems, eventually visiting every now and then for major conflicts. And they have never completely left, just observing us from a distance to see if we would pass the great filter, and become more modern.
The end! Thanks for reading this, it took 20 min for me to type. Upvote if you liked it!
