We are the lone planet in the solar system to have Total Solar Eclipses. This happens because the moon and the sun has almost the same size when viewed from Earth surface. The ratio of the their diameter with respect to the distance is very much alike. Also, Moon's orbit is almost perfectly circular. That is why during Solar Eclipse, we see just the corona of the sun or 99.99% of the sun.
Another thing is that the moon revolve around Earth with one face of it fixed into facing the earth. The other one remains facing outward -- the dark side of the moon as per scientist.
To me, there so much we need to know about our moon, Why do ever stop exploring it by the way?
