I read about NASA's IVGEN technology which can purify water in microgravity for IV treatment for extended missions. It got me curious -- how often has IV treatment been administered on the ISS? And what are some of the biggest challenges to performing treatment in microgravity? I know the line must be pump driven, but it seems like even basics like tube management and solution mixing/preparation must be nightmares to deal with.
