Does anyone else feel that if there ever was a time for Aliens to make their undeniable presence known to the world, it would be now?

I've often pondered the meaning of life and the purpose of the existence of humanity. I was raised Roman Catholic and attended Catholic school for 9 years of my life. For more than half of my life (I'm 38 now), I was a believer and heart set on everything I was indoctrinated into. I've since abandoned any/all attachments to any religious dogma. I've accepted life to be as it is. It's also led me down the path of thinking the obvious of our world (who, what, why & when?).

Given the current tumultuous state of the world, I've come to the belief that perhaps a "Day the Earth Stood Still" style interaction with an advanced Extra Terrestrial civilization would completely change everything for us. The amount of possibilities that exist on this topic are almost endless. Perhaps we were remnants from an alien civilization ourselves? Are Aliens multi-dimensional? Are Aliens from the Oceans? Are Aliens running simulations of reality? Whatever the explanation may be, I believe that we may see them come here soon and save us from ourselves.

Has anyone else recently thought this as well?
