High res images for cassini mission?

Hello,

I'm obessed with Saturn and his rings, and love to check your cassini section regularly. I want to make a print of saturn images on some high res (something like 23" x 15").

I was recommended here to read the "communion" by whitey strieber.

I read the "communion" by Whitely strieber .... What a load of crap there was so many holes in the story and so cliché. What an absolute embarrassment and the fact that he kept advertising his other books and books of his friends that they'd published was even more embarrassing than the story.

I've read alot of alien encounter stories and books and this is by far the worst I've ever read.

If you had the influence, resources, and power, how would you disclose to the people of Earth about Aliens?

I would stream live to every citizen on the planet (tv, internet, radio, etc) and broadcast a meeting with the alien and do a QA with them so that the people of Earth would understand them.
After the phase of OMG, I would allow every new piece of technology to help everyone on the Earth. New medical technology to heal the sick. Destroy the money system. Clean the eco system.
After about 10 years, our planet would look totally different.

Hey from a new NASA employee at MSFC

Hey guys,

I am new to NASA and they have me in the PIP program and being in this program requires me to have a NASA mentor -They want me to go out and find a mentor. Also, being in PIP means I have to do up to three PIP rotations and one of the rotations I would like to do is in Payload Operations. My goal is to become a flight controller and overtime a flight director for SLS. Is there anyone on here that has worked as a flight controller I could use as a mentor or even any formal astronauts? I would like to become a leader here and help do great things so I am looking for someone who is willing to take their time and help me get to know the culture.

Trip to Mars

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I would like you to seriously think about this and think if you would fund this. One way trip to Mars with limited supplies and limited crew due to the fact that not many would be willing to risk it. I think that there is a great disaster coming to this planet and I think it may be a Nuclear blast or a cosmic disaster like a comet, this may sound silly, but I had visisions of a meteor shower above our world before and it's a question of faith. I am afraid that we as a specie wasted a great ammount of time sitting on computer and playing League of legends instead of paying attention to what is happening within our families. I ask you no I beg you to seriously take me seriously. People are similar, not very difficult to predict, but we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. We define insanity as an illness when it is considered to be a gift when you are rich and wealthy. I don't think insanity is a bad thing, I think it's when your opinions and visions differ from social norms and social norms have tweakers as United States court judges and cops shooting people of color just for being colored. Marines are moving in and out of the country to shoot down innocent people in cold blood, we can't even afford to pay them back. They are living in the barracks with 80's jeeps and pants and old t-shirts that have holes in them, I have seen it. I live with the tweaker step-father and a coce addicted mother so my time here is running out and our time as a specie is running out. We are racing against the clock and our social norms tell us " Shut the fuck up and go to school, get in debt with college, then buy a car with credit, get slaughtered by interest and system doesn't give a shit about how your girlfriend fucked your best friend behind your back and broke your heart and began drinking and lost a touch a bit, but then it's too late you are behind in payments tension now builds up been there, done that and I am sure you can admit it to yourself if you are willing to put your pride away. Pride is deadly. I just hope that we can have an open discussion about this

[Question] What happens when SpaceX or Blue can launch more for less vs. SLS?

It seem at least plausible to assume that SpaceX or Blue Origin will have heavy lift capability equal to or greater than SLS by 2025. Quick Googling suggest the first crewed mission where we do something new is ARM in 2026.

IIRC, each SLS launch is $500m. SpaceX claims each Booster + Tanker will cost $360m without reusability.

What happens to SLS if a commercial company can launch the same thing SLS can, but significantly cheaper(2x or higher)? Or/also, what happens to the distribution of funds within NASA?

What's the deal with everyone talking about religion?

either if you're religious or not, or you believe aliens have something to do with religion thats great, but keep it to yourself or if you have to talk about it, try and come up with some kind of reason why that is.

I've see a lot of atheist people on this sub seem like they KNOW what's out there, when the truth is you really don't, none of us do until we die and you can't disprove that.

I'm not that religious myself but people who become over zealous about not having religion anymore is like the exact same reasoning and logic as a person who is religious.

I had a dream i was cuddling an alien and then had dozens in my room

I have been an abductee my whole life but I had a dream the other night where it felt so real...I only remember three pieces Me waking up almost paralyzed trying to get my gun...not sure why yet when I look back Second...I'm cuddling one of those mutanous teddy bears without hair from communion..it was in my bed face to face with me. It was nice but scary at the same time! It was blue black and maybe 3 feet tall at most! Super weird...next I walk toward my door to the kitchen and their is about a dozen short aliens in the room and the one closest to me touches me with a wand...and that's it. I've never seen any aliens like this! All previous aliens I have seen has only been the tall Grey's so I'm little off on this experience. I'm not even sure if it was real but it seemed almost as real as my other experiences. Its felt like the were in a dimension over lapping ours and doing a class room test on me or something...any info besides seek therapy would be helpful! Thank you and god bless...I am a highly intelligent successful business owner not a dumb hillbilly lmao

Tabitha's star theory

For those who don't know Tabitha's star is that star that we got those weird light variations on, that had the internet buzzing with the possibility of a Dyson Sphere being built there. I know intelligent life is the last possibility you should be mentioning, but what are the other possibilities? It can't be an asteroid belt, ours only has about the mass of Mars and we saw something bigger than that. It could be concentrated space dust in the space between our two systems I guess, after all we've only had two detections of these weird variations (we missed out on our chance to get our third but we'll get it soon), until you've seen at least three variations you can't claim that it is for sure something orbiting that star.

Also why the hell would you build a Dyson Swarm around a red star? Especially when there are two neighbouring stars that have stars that will last way longer. And yeah it can't be a Dyson Sphere, that's not practical, a Dyson Swarm is what you want.

Also if the intelligent life that is doing this came from Tabitha's star system then that means it reached Type 2 civilization faster than we've reached Type .8, a lot faster, our sun has a much longer time span than Tabitha's star. That means the intelligent life is more likely to have come from one of the two neighbouring star systems right? But why the hell would they go build a Dyson Swarm for a dying star?

The only thing I could think of is if they want to stop the star from going supernova. If alfa centauri our closest star went supernova it wouldn't be good for us. If you build a Dyson Swarm around a star and used it for Star Lifting you could reduce the mass of the star and expand it's lifetime, also you can use this mass to build the Dyson Swarm as you go. Also by reducing the mass of the star you make it less likely for the star to go supernova.

So what if, if we do get a third detection of the light variation, what we are seeing is an intelligent civilization performing an insane feet of enginnering in an attempt to survive a stellar catastrophe?

I'm writing this off memory so some facts I may have f*cked up, so please let me know if you find something that's wrong.

Hi. My grandmother worked for NASA for 30 years. I have 100s of letters to NASA after the Challenger explosion. Do you want to see them?

I grew up in Houston. My grandmother worked for all the flight directors at NASA for 30 years, she has seen it all. When the Challenger exploded on Jan 28 1986 I was in grade school and they wheeled a TV into my classroom to watch the news footage...it was a big deal. Anyway there was a flood of letters from all over the world from kids to crackpots. My Grandmother photocopied every one of those letters which I have in my possession and I want to share them if you are interested. I am not sure the best way to do that so I am open to suggestions. I saw a light in the sky the other day, and it was moving in strange patterns and such. Obviously I was compelled to think it was possibly a UFO.

What else could it have been (that's explainable and possible)? Helicopter? Atmosphere stuff?

How does your awareness of ETs affect your daily life and philosophy?

I recently have come to truly believe that alien species are working with governments on Earth. I don't know yet exactly what I believe as far as agendas and theories go.

Though I've always considered myself open-minded, this awareness is...well I'm a little bit in shock and trying to understand how to integrate this information into my life choices and personal philosophy.

Something I'm especially struggling with is, as a depressed person diagnosed Bipolar and pervasive history of self hatred, harm and isolation, what implications are there for my cosmic responsibility to heal so that I can most effectively Be/spread "love" and peace in all its manifestations, as ETs must have had to learn to do in order to advance. And no matter which ET/human agendas are "real", love and belonging to a tribe will soon be necessary for survival, in my lifetime I believe. But I feel utterly broken in my ability to be in any genuine, give/receive relationship. I am also uneasy wondering whether my negativity may attract negative ET attention (according to some theories I've not yet thoroughly examined). If you have any thoughts on these matters I would love to speak with you.

TL;DR I would love to hear how your awareness of ETs (please mention your specific beliefs/experiences) has/is impacting your day to day choices, life style, and how you've integrated the awareness into your worldview and philosophy.

UFO spotted as a child, Anyone else see this too?

As a child, I lived out in Bay Shore, Long Island. I had experienced a lot of paranormal stuff from an early age but this is my only experience dealing with something like this and I would love to know if anyone else has experienced something similar: I was 12 or 13, playing outside at dusk across the street from a water facility which had a big stretch of sky over it. The sun was already down and the sky was that soft glowly light color. It was summer. I stop playing tag and point up so my little sis and friend can see what I see. Its a ball of orange/amberish light, just sitting there mysteriously in the sky. As we watch it, it slowly hovers across the skyline and begins to change shape, getting longer, squarer, rounder again. Then it hovers and suddenly shoots off out of sight. We look at each other, frightened and when we look again, its hovering across the sky again as if it had never left. I said, Im outta here and my sis and I ran all the way home.

Anyone else see anything like this? This took place about 20 years ago.

My UFO experience while enlisted in the US Navy

I had this story in a comment section of a previous post and the feedback i received urged me to make my own post, so here it is.

(heres the copy and paste of the first comment)

I have witnessed first hand UFO technology while enlisted in the US Navy. Myself and the 350 manned crew of USS cape George cg-71 witnessed 3 UFOs playing light games high in the atmosphere one night. A series of yellow, orange and red lights occupied the sky above ourship during a under way replenishment with a supply ship. The phenomenon occurred from about 0000- 0330. The whole crew was at disbelief when watching these three crafts maneuver at speeds and feat's that defy current laws of gravity. A craft was able to travel from one side of the horizon to other in silence and in a matter of seconds and then abruptly stop, often changing course, all while emitting one of the three shades of color I spoke of.

This story takes place in 2011 btw

My position during the UNREP (underway replenishment) was on the bridge or pilot house. The bridge is where the helm is located and all types of navigation occur here in conjunction with Operation Specialist's information they receive from our on board radar. My ship has what you call a SPY 1B (spy one bravo) radar system, visually it looks like a hexagon on the exterior, this is the array. anyways i do not want to divulge to far off topic but I do want to explain a few of the ships capabilities because it ties in to the story.

So this night in particular, we were somewhere in the south china sea. It was about 12am or 0000 and the event lasted until about 0300( and the whole time the OFO's were flying around). My position during this UNREP was on a bridge wing. I had full visual contact with everything happening with the ships brass, because as the UFO events transpired the captain and all top brass (NAV, OPS, CHENG, XO,) basically any important officer was called up to the pilot house. The officers did not communicate with the crew and instead gathered in a small circle near the captains chair. Their conversations were hard to hear but I had access to the comms line that went down to CIC (Command OPS center located in dead center of ship complete with black lights all around to hinder vision purposely). Basically what was happening was that we didnt have these UFO's showing up on our radar. Also our IFF transponder (Identify friend or foe) was also not sending back a signal telling us what type of aircraft they were.

So these officers really had no idea what was going on either, they stayed in a small circle and the crew was all on edge, we the crew were all like OMG what the hell are these things flying like this above us. the crew all knew that these were no ordinary aircraft. My rate in the navy was an "IC" which means interior comms electrician, I was basically in charge of all comms inside the ship.

So these UFO's darted around the sky that night with the whole crew just watching these crafts emit a series of red/orange/yellow lights. The light was singular at each time, for instance the craft would dart from one side of the horizon to the other right, then above a large cloud the craft would lower itself in the cloud then it would turn orange right, and the whole cloud would start pulsating orange for about 2 or 3 minutes, then it would raise back up and turn yellow again. There were 3 craft total that night, all doing the same thing and towards the end of the "show" the main color they would emit would be orange right, and then they would do the pulse thing again and this time it would be pulsating red, then raise back up and then be orange.

I had access to binoculars, which i used to observe with, then i had infrared googles which when worn i could see a heat trail behind the object flying. I had night vision googles also and also when wore showed a tail, with the naked eye though i could not see a tail on the object.

That night we the crew all came to realize that this was no prototype Chinese plane or craft. The behavior of the craft defied contemporary human knowledge of physics. The speed of these crafts produced no sound and could travel from one side of the horizon to the other in about 4 or 5 seconds... Upon reaching their straight shot destination, they would abruptly stop, and change course, with zero sound. It was the weirdest thing, only a bright white light that changed to 3 different colors were the only noticeable feature.

The next day was full of conspiracy, the officers on board made zero explanations as to what these crafts might have been. The only other possibility it could have been was a Chinese prototype craft , that was pretty much was the only possibility which we all knew was BS. There is no way that that craft was Human made, or it was, it was a black ops project and it very well may have been military or humans who piloted it but the technology was not of earth. In retrospect i should have asked more questions but at the time i was not really a believer because i had never experienced anything like that in my life.

To this day, I still talking about my story with people, usually im met with skepticism but its to be expected, we live in a nation of sheep primarily and most people are so passive that they couldn't care less. I know that my story is relevant and i continue to be a alien/ufo advocate because of the many stories with the same context ive heard through out the years.

Just wanted you guys to see one of the Dr Mitchell/Podesta emails I don't see mentioned pretty much ever.

I've been noticing that when people post the emails to John Podesta regarding Dr. Mitchell, a lot of the comments are mostly dismissive because the emails aren't replied to. And I absolutely understand why that would be a normal reaction.

But.. (and I've even noticed this in articles about these emails) no one ever mentions the one email that actually had a reply implying that Podesta had in fact agreed to a meeting with Dr. Mitchell.

As you can see in the email, the person representing Dr Mitchell is asking when a good time/date would be for this meeting. They also mention that they'd like the President to be in attendance.

Podestas, I assume, assistant replies that John would like to have the meeting alone first before bringing the president in to it as well as trying to figure out a good meeting time for both parties.

Now, I don't know if the meeting ever actually happened, nor do I know if Obama ever attended a meeting with them if there was one. I just wanted everyone to be aware that not all of these emails about Dr. Mitchell are ignored and never replied to.

To the people that think most aliens are evil: Look at it this way, if you abduct someone against their will you are a bad person. So that doesn't mean all aliens are bad just most of the people reporting aliens were ones that got abducted. Was I altered by aliens?

If I am posting to the wrong subreddit, I apologize and please refer me to the correct subreddit.

When I was about 11 years old (I'm a male) I had an extremely realistic dream about being left in a field close to my house as ships left me on the ground. I awoke in my bed soon afterward, feeling very strange.

My dream consisted of me waking up in a field and seeing fireflies all around me. The wind was rather strong, but not overpowering. I remember looking up and seeing lights (no they weren't stars) getting farther and farther away. I felt as if I had been left behind. Soon afterward, I woke up.

Ever since then I've been very different. My intelligence among my peers skyrocketed, as I was doing high school mathematics and science in the 6th grade (and understanding all of it). Not to mention my reading comprehension increased as well, and my understanding of foreign languages too.

My athletic abilities increased as well, but I would think because of puberty (again I'm a male). However, my overall pain tolerance increased dramatically. I rarely feel pain bad enough to say something about it. I've broken bones, had teeth knocked out, and had severe openings in my skin and I don't feel painful. But my overall sensitivity increased. My skin is astronomically prone to the chills (the body shaking extremely for a few seconds), and if anything touches me that isn't close to the temperature on my skin, I freak out.

Even my overall learning ability had increased. I can study for almost any test and receive a perfect score. This may seem normal, but it's not normal. It's not normal for someone like me to increase 12 points on the ACT in 6 weeks. (24 to a perfect 36)

Also ,ever since then I've had an extreme interest in space ever since then. My dream ever since the 8th grade was to become an astronaut, ever since I visited Cape Canaveral with my father.

To reiterate, none of this occurred prior to my dream when I was 11.

Did I have an experience with aliens? I've told psychiatrists about this and they have no explanation for anything.

My explanation is that aliens did something to my brain. I have no idea what, but they must've don't something to do all this to me.

Would like some advice.

Hi all, I am a senior in high school, and am considering two fields, a master's in electrical engineering or a bachelors in computer science and than a master's in software engineering. What I am certain of is that I want to work at nasa one day. Helping discover new life on other worlds, helping humanity expand, etc is what fascinates me. Though I do know that that likely won't happen in my lifetime and if I eventually do get a career it won't be anything like my great uncle's (worked on the apollo missions) stories, but to even be a small cog that helps it happen eventually is enough for me. To expand I am in Southern California and we have the jet propulsion lab, which is around 1 to 3 hours depending on traffic from my location. Is there any advice that any of you can give me ? like how to network, get my foot in the door, etc. I do have plans to eventually intern there but I know that it's likely to be competitive, and not a sure bet. I am currently planing to go to a local community college and transfer to UC Irvine. But aside form that I don't really know much else about what I should do.

Weird connections.....

So I was chatting with U/Elspru on his AMA about his recollection of his past life as a grey alien and their agenda. If you have the time look him up and read thru his comments, some of the stuff he says really makes sense to me. Basically what he said was the greys are here looking for human genes to make a better body for future reincarnations. They like other alien species are very spiritual as so I hear from a lot of posts on here. Their was another post about a race of blue aliens that wanted to teach us how to be more spiritual as there is a soul realm and karma is a real thing. And to me it makes sense. So I was working listening to music when the song "creep" by Radiohead came on, and if you listen to it from a grey aliens point of view it almost perfectly coincides with what u/elspru was saying. Might be a huge coincidence but it's to perfect.

Have I been abducted?? I really need your guys' opinions!

I am 24 years old now and ever since I was 7 I have had some crazy stuff happening to me. I always thought it was paranormal but last night i had the most vivid dream encountering 2 humanoid alien men and reading on alien abduction symptoms i seem to have them including these 2 perfectly round scoop marks that appeared on my back right calf leg. I have encountered lost time, sleep paralysis, encountered lights in the skies, humming noises, sleep problems, medical problems, crazy electronic malfunctions, and a couple other symptoms. My problems with technology have gotten so bad that I actually have to get a new phone once a month since they keep breaking. Ever since I was little only my room would get blackouts(except for when i was home alone then the whole house would get blackouts) it actually became such a regular occurrence i thought it was normal. The tv would never turn on the channel i turned it off on. I got this weird perfectly round puddle of water that appeared on my bed. I had something scratch the hell out of to the point that i was bleeding. Lights ALWAYS turn off when i go near them or take a while to turn on. I have always had incredible intuition too which seems to be connected with abductions. And strangest of all my boyfreind and i were almost completely sure i was pregnant 3 separate times, i had all the signs, symptoms and belly but then over night i wasnt anymore! i never ever ever ever put 2 and 2 together until now and im kind of freaking out!!! I'm not sure what else to put on here so you guys ask me the questions ill be happy to answer whatever!! Quick recap of my dream: I was walking down this dirt road at night when i came upon these tall about 6 ft tall humanoids speaking this crazy language. High pitched and gibberish but not clicking like in the movies. They were very strong looking, you could see their muscles through their thick jumpsuits. They were wearing these veryy strange kinda silver metallicy jumpsuits that looked like leather but i know they werent. They were super busy like what 1980's jackets looked like full of zippers and buttons and shit. That looks similar to what was on those jumpsuits but not exactly, there were funkier looking. When I came upon them i freaked out obviously and just jumped down and laid myself out like a rug to make myself disappear but they of course saw me and one walked over and just crouched over me then i passed out.....

Lights in my sky multiplying

Two weeks ago I noticed a strange light while looking out my bedroom window. This light was above a cluster of trees, up and to the left when looking out. I noticed it immediately because it was much brighter than the stars and was pulsing between a few different colors- red/orange, blue/some cool color, and white. After watching it seemed to move straight up and down. I went to bed wondering what it could be but not dwelling too much. The next clear night I looked out again to see if it was there and it was in a similar place but not exactly where it had been. I watched it and over the course of an hour it moved out of sight, just slight movements here and there and eventually it was gone out of my view (but may have still been above my house). That's the night I also noticed another- same characteristics but totally different location, this one was straight out front, and seemed a little farther away. I could see them both at the same time so I know it wasn't the same light source.

I've been watching them nightly for days and it seems like they almost double every night or so! Small ones, not as bright, larger ones (all about the size of stars but colorful and pulsing with light). I've googled and these seem fairly common to see although no one has an explanation. I'm assuming they are UFOs and would love to know if anyone else has seen them- perhaps with a telescope? Or if anyone had more information? Thanks!

Question about working for nasa

Hi,

I recently graduated with an EE degree and am working. I was wondering if it's possible to have NASA as my dream job, and if so what sort of things can I start learning/doing myself to slowly move into their company.

I'm wondering if going back to get my masters to go into their pathway program is the best way, or if trying to get a job at like boeing is better.

Problems with Disclosure

When it comes to the question "If the government knows something about the UFO/Alien Phenomenon would you want them to disclose about it?" many of us would say yes without thinking about it.

But we need to understand what this would entail. Of course this varies to what degree the phenomena is happening at, from the most outlandish theories such as lizard people living underground and earth being a farm for aliens, to the more conservative theories like there are no aliens, it was the US using Nazi tech, disclosure will have a profound impact on the world.

If disclosure leans more towards the outlandish theories then our whole livelihood will change in a day. Information will be pumped through all media outlets, real and fake, and whatever change occurs will be PERMANENT.

Think about that.

If we learn something such as most aliens are evil and farming us, the world would dissolve into chaos overnight. We wont be able to reverse the changes and just turn it off. Think of all the people that just want to live normal lives, who never ever think of any conspiracy theories in their life, everyone everywhere will be affected.

We all need to stop and think of the consequences of our actions pushing for disclosure, and figure out how we are going to deal with it.

Everyone wants disclosure, but when it happens and you don't like the results you cant just turn it off.

Everyone in the world who is pushing for disclosure needs to understand the risks and relay them to anyone else even remotely interested.

Then again, disclosure could show that our universe is really much bigger than we know, bustling with life, and just like Star Trek.

So maybe it is worth it...

Either way we need to stop and have a serious discussion.

does NASA ever plan to launch backup hardware, if something goes wrong?

I have some rough notion that for many space probes, NASA builds a flight unit, and a non-flight unit to have on earth that's used to test command sequences, experiment with recovery options, and all the things you might want "hands-on" hardware for. My question is predicated on that being the case - else it makes no sense.

I'm wondering if, in the event of some catastrophe such as a launch accident, loss of the flight-unit en-route, etc, there are ever emergency plans to launch the ground unit (assuming it can easily be made flight-worthy). Since all the effort to design and build it has already happened, maybe it would be down to launch and ongoing mission costs. It would be obviously a much worse outcome than if everything went properly, but better than outright loss of the mission with lots of money sunk and no return if the worst happens.

Of course you wouldn't want to lose the backup for the same reason as the first, but sometimes it's independent (e.g launch accidents), or sometimes they might figure out the problem, and be able to make an easy workaround on the other one.

Strange Photos From BWCA Camping Trip

My Fiancé and I were camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (northern Minnesota) this past Thursday. She was taking pictures of the lake/sunset, and we noticed that night while looking through them the district green head-like object that appeared to have moved in each photo and also, upon closer look, there appears to be a greenish light beaming directly from the sky to the object. She didn't see the object/light with her own eyes and we didn't see or hear any trace of supernatural/other activity the rest of the night.

Our guess is that the object/light was created by something to do with the iPhone camera (though it's working perfectly fine otherwise) or perhaps some early evening Northern Lights? Neither seem particularly plausible, but then, neither does a supernatural explanantion. Attached are her unedited photos.

What if some "ET"s were religious extremists?

What if there is a group "out there" that has a sort of "system" and that there is "multiple" groups "within" the "main" group / what if one of the "multiple" groups deceives another other group within the "main" group / and that the deceived group believes in what the other group tells them (referring to not right ideas) / and what if the deceived group thinks that "they" are doing the "right thing" (telling other people about "information" of what "they" might potentially "believe" / potentially doing "what they are told" / in a subject of "beliefs" / (potentially even threatened if "they" don't / in subject of "beliefs") ) / when in fact what the deceived group believed was false / and that this false information was really part of what the "other" group want's (to potentially control the deceived group and potentially even people that aren't "part" of the "main" group system ?). Also what if the group that is deceiving another group "within" the system is also deceiving people that aren't part of the "main" group system?
